Stewart has worked intensively for over ten years with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Makerere University in Uganda on collaborative HIV/AIDS health research. She currently directs a program in public health communication for Northwestern undergraduate students at Makerere University and supervises summer research for Northwestern medical students.
